Year 6 at The Story Museum

On Monday 15th July, Year 6 travelled to The Story Museum, in Oxford, to attend a celebration of the work the museum has been undertaking with schools over the last three years.

We started the day with a visit to the grounds of Christ Church to take part in fun games, designed to get to know our fellow pupils from Dashwood Banbury Academy and Wykham Park Academy. In the afternoon, we all attended The Story Museum's presentation featuring schools' learning journeys with the museum and rounded off with poems and a look to the future. The Story Museum is expanding and in 2020 will have new buildings housing, among other things, a Whispering Wood and a room dedicated to 'The art of being normal'. There was a short time before the journey home when we experimented with making our own costumes and titles and sat on the throne!

It was a day full of inspiration, information and stories - a thoroughly enjoyable day!
