WEEK BEGINNING 12th July 2021

It’s hard to believe this is the last blog of the year; the children have all been amazing and we are looking forward to our party on Wednesday.

For our whole school Garden Project we chose Peru as our country. We learnt about Paddington Bear, we made a flag, a Llama and tried some weaving.  Mrs Bell asked the children if they would like to have some Marmalade sandwiches (Paddington’s favourite) for a treat? The children decided they would like toast instead!

We wish all of our Nursery children a lovely summer holiday and look forward to seeing you all when we return, either back to Nursery or into the Reception class.  Thank you for all being so wonderful.

WEEK BEGINNING 5th July 2021

We have been learning about road safety this week and have talked about how to stay safe when walking to and from nursery. We have learnt that it is always important to hold our grown up’s hand and not to run off.

We have enjoyed learning some new action songs and had fun dancing to different types of music.

WEEK BEGINNING 28th June 2021

We had a super fun time this week in nursery!

Sports Day and Forest

We enjoyed our Sports Day on Tuesday and took part in lots of running races and afterwards we went into the forest to explore. On Wednesday, we enjoyed our picnic with the Reception classes and ate ice lollies that were donated by the PTFA.

Meeting Percy the Tortoise

Mrs Grant kindly brought in her pet Tortoise ‘Percy’ to meet us, he was really quick and we learnt that he loves to eat bananas.  Percy’s mouth is called a beak and he only has gums and no teeth!

WEEK BEGINNING 21st June 2021

We have again enjoyed our sports activities this week and have also tried some different fruits and vegetables to keep us healthy. We especially enjoyed the raspberries and we found out that we could see the light through our cucumber slices.

Stacking boxes and trying fruit

To support our understanding of size we have used different size boxes and made towers starting with the biggest and finishing with the smallest it was fun knocking the towers down and rebuilding them.

We had a great time practising for Sports day, it was lovely to be out on the big field.

Practicing for Sports Day

The children have learnt a new song about the sun so we decided to try and grow our own sunflowers. We listened well to the instructions and are now eagerly waiting for them to grow. I wonder who will have the tallest one?

Learning about Sunflowers

Welcome back to nursery and to Term 6. This term we are learning all about different animals and where they live. We have enjoyed our new Jungle roleplay area and we have discussed which is our favourite jungle animal.

The children were very excited to see the pictures of our butterflies and we talked about the colours in their wings, the food they ate and how many butterflies we had.
